Look for a picture in the near future of the desired upgrades for the stadium. When complete our stadium will truly be a first-class facility. The first major upgrade was the installation of a new 10-lane track. The next phase, which is under construction is the replacement of the press box, concession, and restroom buildings. Replacing these are a two-story press box, a large concession/restroom building, and a new ticket booth. Remaining but unfunded is meeting/hospitality/restroom building, a dramatic entry way off 18th Ave., and a parking lot on the corner of 18th and Sylvester St. About $500,000 is still needed for this work.
Planning has just begun for a fund raising effort to replace the grass with the new synthetic "Field Turf" used by the Huskies, Cougars, and today I read the Seahawks will install this as well. This cost is $800,000.
Ambitious projects but it will become a reality in the near future.
