Happy New Year from Spokane:
I was curious to know how many classmates from "58" live in and around Spokane. I've watched the emails and think we ought to have a get together and renew friendships and acquaintances. If anyone is interested email me and we'll make some plans.

With all the talk of Mr. Gregson, I remember a Chemistry Class that was given by an older gentleman whose name I don't remember. I don't remember how long he was our teacher but after Mr. Gregson monitored our class for a couple of days, Mr. Gregson took over the class. I was very confused until Mr. Gregson took over and all of a sudden the light went on when it came to balancing equations. I will always be thankful to him for taking over that class. He was a great teacher and cared what was going on even though we were all scared to death of him.

I enjoy reading all the mail on this website. Thanks so much for putting it together. I only have one brother who still lives in the Kennewick but I try and get back to visit when I am in Spokane. Flossie Hastings was like a second Mom to me and all my sisters. I was in Pasco last summer for a couple of days and stayed with George and Janice Ling. Saw several people at the St. Pats reunion and I always look forward to our PHS reunions. I too couldn't believe how downtown had changed. The river was beautiful and I miss having the water near. I live in Colorado Springs where we have had drought conditions for the past 2 years and everything is very brown. We do have the mountains to look at which I love but I also miss the water. The walkway along the river is wonderful.

  Keep the letters coming.

Happy New Year 2003, to all!
I missed the frequent PHS updates lately, Paul. You do such a good job of connecting our PHS family. I surely enjoy hearing all the news from everyone.

I didn't realize that Mr. Gregson taught Biology (in the `50s), too. What a talented man. Chemistry & Physics teacher, Tennis Coach, Vice Principal, Principal, Pasco School District Maintenance Supervisor, Pasco School Board Member and a friend to many.

  Greetings to Betty (Kurz) `58.

Pasco is growing rapidly. We need two new elementary schools and another High School. The entire Tri-Cities is crying for new elementary schools. My school in Kennewick has been sporting over loads in primary for at least 6 years. The motto, "Stack `em Higher and Deeper!" comes to mind.
State wide: This legislature is ignoring the public vote in the time of greatest need, for lower class sizes. This was a commitment that was made in 2001. Programs that we have built-in to help all students succeed, will be lost. If you PHSers have time; write, call or email your legislators and let them know that this is not the time to abandon education. The current quote to our legislators is: "Keep the Commitment!"

Please support the Pasco Bond Levy in February, so that we can pursue the necessary new schools on a local basis. With many new Pasco people sharing the tax base, our taxes will not be increased. We have a great community. Now is the time to forge ahead and be proactive.

Keep the good times and news rolling! Thanks!

Happy Groundhog's Day! Happy Valentine's Day! Happy President's Day!

Do you remember the days when we got into trouble with "The Colonel" we had dandelion patrol?

Well, PHS has a new tardy policy which goes into effect this Tuesday (01/28/03). When a student is tardy more than three times for the same class, they will have 30 minutes after school beautifying the grounds for each additional tardy. The goal of course is to have fewer tardies. Initially I suspect PHS will be immaculate. I also believe my youngest, who is a senior this year, will be participating in "Project Beautification." Oh well.

Three cheers for Mr. John Morgan, the principal, and his great sense duty and humor.

I really enjoy reading all of your input. I too think I must of been in a daze. I wish my memory was as good as the rest of yours. Keep on writing.

Hey everyone!
I was reading some of the entries and found one in which Jessica Beck (`96) had said that she took ballet lessons from Mrs. Voorhees. I did too!! I don't think that we took them together. I started in the first grade (about `79 or `80) and finished my junior year of high school because of a knee injury. That was `91. I remember jumping on her little trampoline (sp?) before we got to go upstairs. Then, we had to warm up on the floor and at the bar. I loved her and was very sad when she passed. I remember taking lessons from her every Saturday and afterward, my mom taking me to Taco Spot on Ct. I believe that the Taco Spot is now a different type of restaurant? Anyway, I also remember having to take lessons twice a week, especially when a recital was coming up. I really enjoyed taking lessons from her.
I was also reading some other entries and came across one from Marci Enloe about the reunion. I heard about the reunion but not until after the fact. Jennifer Fletcher e-mailed me, asking for my address. At the time, we were moving so I told her to send the info to my parents. My parents never received it and they still live in Pasco. I don't know what happened? Anyway, wish I could have been there or at least known about it.
